This year the trip starts on the 20th of May in Tallinn, from where we are taken by a bus through Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to the most beautiful nature of Masuria lakes (there is also a possibility to take a plane to Warsaw).
In Mazury we'll load the boats with students from all over the world. Cruising around for six days in our comfortable boats will be the most amazing experience you've ever had!
THE PLACE
The Great Masurian Lakes District is a unique region in Europe. It is currently in the run for being listed into one of the New7Wonders of Nature. The whole area has become a prime destination for yachtspeople and canoeists, and is also popular among anglers, hikers, bikers and nature-lovers. Many boating enthusiasts come to Masuria for their great freshwater lakes. The area is the most famous lake district in Central Europe and has become a popular vacation destination.
SAILING
In Masuria you can experience the real sailing adventure, spending several days on the water trails running through an area of exuberant forests. Every boat has a professional captain who teaches secrets of sailing to all beginners, so that you do not have to know anything beforehand!!
MAZURY CRUISE'10 SAILING FESTIVAL INCLUDES:
A. SAILING PART:
- 6 days of sailing around the Great Masurian Lake District (the biggest Polish Lake – Sniardwy, every day a different harbor: top sailing and party spots like Mikolajki and Gizycko)
- transportation on a route Tallinn - Gizycko - Krakow – Tallinn (optionally pick up from Warsaw airport)
- tutelage of the skipper during the cruise and sailing classes for beginners
B. SIGHTSEEING PART CRACOW & the neighborhood: 3 days of sightseeing in Cracow (B&B accommodation) - visiting the main touristic sites including:
- Wawel Castle & Wawel Cathedral, Sukiennice Cloth Hall, Zygmunt Bell (UNESCO placed Kraków on the list of World Heritage Sites)
- Aushwitz – Birkenau: the concentration camps built and operated in occupied Poland by Nazi Germany during the Second World War
- Wieliczka Salt Mine: one of the world's oldest operating salt mines, which has been in operation since prehistoric times
- The best clubs and pubs in the former capital of Poland: Prozak disco& many more ;).
